Gabe with Papa JIm on the tractor
Last week Gabe and I took trip to Georgia to see my Sister Melissa and her two girls, while Garrett stayed home and studied 18 hours a day. The trip went very smoothly. We got to Atlanta with no problems. We even picked up our rental car and drove to my sister's without getting lost. I was really proud of myself. I guess I owe those skills to my mission. I learned a lot about traveling and getting places on my own. Although, it was a little trickier with a 16 month old, two bags, a car seat and a stroller. From Peach Tree City we took a weekend trip to see my Dad in Beaufort South Carolina. It was quite the drive there with three kids, but we made it and had a great time with my Dad and Susanna. The kids got to go on a ride on my Dad's tractor. The girls loved it. Gabe wasn't quite sure about it, but by his second ride he loved it. He kept saying "TUTU". That's what he calls trucks. He is loves anything that has wheels or moves. My Dad also took the all three kids to get dirt for their yard. It was so cute to see all the kids in their car-seats in the back of the truck. When the got back the had all taken off their shoes and socks. It was so cute. My dad said Gade loved watching the big truck picking up the dirt and putting it into the trailer.
Dad, thank you for such a fun weekend. Your grand-kids love you!!! You always make it so fun. Thanks again!!
Our drive back to Peach Tree City, georgia was great! We left during nap time and the kids slept almost the whole way. Plus, we took the shorter route home (only 4 hours). It was a fun trip, but definitely not a vacation. I guess once you have kids it's never really a vacation. Thanks Melissa for letting us come visit- we really had fun, even though it was a little crazy at times.
