Meet Dr. Garrett C. Lowe, M.D.

Garrett and his BIGGEST supporters, ME and the BOYS!
We are so proud of you and all your hard work and sacrifice (on both parts)!
Yay, WE are done....at least with this chapter.
Being the wife of a medical student wasn't easy and I know it will continue to be hard throughout residency and Practice, despite what most might think. Residency here we come!

Garrett being Hooded, ya it was very dark

Our Camera died so I stole this from jenny's blog, but she was my very faithful friend and visiting teacher throughout medical school. She IS AMAZING.

Family and friends came to support Garrett at Rodgio Grill after the Graduation Ceremony.
Thanks to all those who came.
Gordon and Ruth Ann also had a amazing party for Garrett at their house that evening, but Unfortunately no photos were taken. Thanks to you both as well.

Better Late than Never.... SLC Half Marathon 4/17/10

One month age today I RAN the 13.1 miles in 1 hour 38 mins 19 sec.....that's a 7min 30sec/mile pace. I was VERY excited because my goal was 1 hour 45 mins and I by far surpassed it. It was so fulfilling and such a rush. I LOVED IT! You can bet I'll be running more of them this summer. Thanks to my Mom, Garrett, and my babies for coming to support me!

Drum Roll Please.....

WE ARE STAYING IN SALT LAKE CITY FOR OUR ONE YEAR TRANSITIONAL PROGRAM AND THEN GOING TO THE MAYO CLINIC IN ROCHESTER MINNESOTA FOR THREE YEARS OF DERMATOLOGY! We feel very privileged to be going to a top Derm Program, even though it wasn't our first pick and we will be subjected to sub-zero temperatures a good 2 months out of the year. I guess that means I get to shop for cute warm weather wear, which will include a pair of Uggs in every color! I guess the sacrifice will be worth the quality of the training for him, as well as myself (working as an RN). We will also be able to afford a moderate size home, get a dog and visit often with one of my favorite mission companions (you were all my favorites!!) who is already there, with her husband, specializing in Urology. I can't wait to play ANDREA!
I will blog more about this later!
Dr. Charles and William Mayo- They along with their father (all Doctors)founded THE MAYO CLINIC in 1903. It was just a clinic then and became a full medical center by 1915. It's an amazing story.

Where the Clinic began in St. Mary's hospital in 1903
Inside the Clinic today. It is absolutely beautiful.

I LOVE THE MAYO MODEL OF CARE- it has inspired many aspects how we practice medicine today.

The Mayo Clinic Model of Care is defined by high quality,
compassionate medical care delivered in a multispecialty,
integrated academic institution. The primary focus, meeting
the needs of the patient, is accomplished by embracing the
following core elements (attributes) as the practice continues
to evolve.
The Mayo Clinic logo of three interlocking shields symbolizes Mayo's commitment to Excellence and Interdependence in the areas Research, Education and Clinical Practice.

CONGRATULATIONS GARRETT, I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!
