California Family Vacation

Last month we made a trip to LA for my Grandma Passanante's 80th birthday. We decided to make a vacation out of it because we knew this next year (being that it is Garrett first year of Medical Residency or his Intern year) will not be full of family vacations and lots of family time. Thanks to our good medical school friends, the Lunns, we found a great disneyland vacation package through costco and went the same week as them. It was such a fun, relaxing and memory making vacation. We stayed 5 nights at the Disneyland resort just outside of California Adventure, received two character meals, three stuffed disney characters, and a $20 gift card. We enjoyed the park in the morning, naps and swimming in the early afternoon and then returned for the evening. It was so much fun to see Gabe light up seeing his favorite Disney Characters. We had so much fun.

The Lunns

The boys had so much fun sleeping on these bunk beds. Gabe is counting down the days unitll we move to Minnesota and he can share a bunk bed with James.
The Happy Couple, after all these years!
Grandma Joan and Papa Joe!

We also enjoyed time with family on our last day. All my sister's and my brother and their families were able to come, as well as my Dad and his wife Susanna. It was nice to see everyone and spend quality time together. On June 5th (my 30th Birthday) we went to my Grandma's Surprise 80th Birthday party. It was such a great way to spend my 30th birthday, surrounded by all those I love so much.

Soccer-2010

Gabriel was on a city soccer league this year. He had a lot of fun with all his long time pals. He was able to get on a team with all our medical school friends children. He did struggle with it, but by the end he was tackling and elbowing all the kids on the opposing team, ya I know thats football, not futball. We tried to explain this to him, but it didn't work. Luckily he is small for his age or we might have been in trouble. Here are some fun pics. WE LOVE YOU GABRIEL!

Meet Dr. Garrett C. Lowe, M.D.

Garrett and his BIGGEST supporters, ME and the BOYS!
We are so proud of you and all your hard work and sacrifice (on both parts)!
Yay, WE are done....at least with this chapter.
Being the wife of a medical student wasn't easy and I know it will continue to be hard throughout residency and Practice, despite what most might think. Residency here we come!

Garrett being Hooded, ya it was very dark

Our Camera died so I stole this from jenny's blog, but she was my very faithful friend and visiting teacher throughout medical school. She IS AMAZING.

Family and friends came to support Garrett at Rodgio Grill after the Graduation Ceremony.
Thanks to all those who came.
Gordon and Ruth Ann also had a amazing party for Garrett at their house that evening, but Unfortunately no photos were taken. Thanks to you both as well.

Gabe CHOWING!

Better Late than Never.... SLC Half Marathon 4/17/10

One month age today I RAN the 13.1 miles in 1 hour 38 mins 19 sec.....that's a 7min 30sec/mile pace. I was VERY excited because my goal was 1 hour 45 mins and I by far surpassed it. It was so fulfilling and such a rush. I LOVED IT! You can bet I'll be running more of them this summer. Thanks to my Mom, Garrett, and my babies for coming to support me!
