Drum Roll Please.....

WE ARE STAYING IN SALT LAKE CITY FOR OUR ONE YEAR TRANSITIONAL PROGRAM AND THEN GOING TO THE MAYO CLINIC IN ROCHESTER MINNESOTA FOR THREE YEARS OF DERMATOLOGY! We feel very privileged to be going to a top Derm Program, even though it wasn't our first pick and we will be subjected to sub-zero temperatures a good 2 months out of the year. I guess that means I get to shop for cute warm weather wear, which will include a pair of Uggs in every color! I guess the sacrifice will be worth the quality of the training for him, as well as myself (working as an RN). We will also be able to afford a moderate size home, get a dog and visit often with one of my favorite mission companions (you were all my favorites!!) who is already there, with her husband, specializing in Urology. I can't wait to play ANDREA!
I will blog more about this later!
Dr. Charles and William Mayo- They along with their father (all Doctors)founded THE MAYO CLINIC in 1903. It was just a clinic then and became a full medical center by 1915. It's an amazing story.

Where the Clinic began in St. Mary's hospital in 1903
Inside the Clinic today. It is absolutely beautiful.

I LOVE THE MAYO MODEL OF CARE- it has inspired many aspects how we practice medicine today.

The Mayo Clinic Model of Care is defined by high quality,
compassionate medical care delivered in a multispecialty,
integrated academic institution. The primary focus, meeting
the needs of the patient, is accomplished by embracing the
following core elements (attributes) as the practice continues
to evolve.
The Mayo Clinic logo of three interlocking shields symbolizes Mayo's commitment to Excellence and Interdependence in the areas Research, Education and Clinical Practice.

CONGRATULATIONS GARRETT, I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!

Bear Grylls

Breakfast Saturday morning:
Me: Gabe eat your blueberries and strawberries!
Gabe: oh, I will. Fruit makes you SURIVIVE!!!( he puts his arms up and flexes)
Me: Yep it does but, who taught you that?
Gabe: Bear Grylls says, fruit makes you SURVIVE in the jungle.
Me: COOL!
Gabe: I'm Bear Grylls' son.
Me: oh really. (I chuckle)
Gabe: Ya, he says he has a son like me. Bear Grylls is cool. Can we watch it?

Garrett and Gabe have taken on watching MAN Vs. WILD as their bonding time. He is obsessed with making fake fires, gathering stick, pretending to hunt and building things with stuff he finds out side.
I love it, he is such a little man!

My big primary boy!

Gabe started primary at church this year and absolutely LOVES it! For those family and friends who are not of our faith, at 3 years old children start Primary, which is a Sunday school for children. They sing/learn songs about Jesus Christ, do activities, and learn from the scriptures (both new and old testament as well as the Book of Mormon). It is for 2 hours during our 3 hour block of meetings every Sunday. We have been out of town a lot or sick since the beginning of the year and he has been so sad to miss it. This last Sunday was stake conference and he was so mad that they didn't have primary. He loves his teachers and loves being with his friends learning about Jesus! He loves having his own scriptures and case for them. He carried them around with him for a week after we got them. He loves to read the Book of Mormon with me and say prayers. He is such a good example to me! I LOVE YOU Gabe!
