Our Sweet Baby James!

James Joseph Lowe came to us on Sat. Sept 13, 2008 at 8:37am!
He weighed 6lbs 6oz and was 20 inches long. He is such a stud. We love him so much and are so excited to have him here. He and I (jessica) are still in the hospital and will be here for a couple more days. Here are some of his first photos.

38.6 weeks and less then 24 hours!

Our sweet baby boy will be here is in less than 24 hours! I really can't believe it. Time has gone by so fast, yet so slow at times. We are so excited (and scared) to welcome him into our lives. I took these pictures today to remember this little guy inside of me. Hopefully he will appreciate them someday.

My attempt at domesticity!

Ever since Gabe was born I have had the desire to learn how to sew. I wanted to do this for many reasons, but mostly so that I could make him and my future children their blankets. I finally got the chance a couple weeks ago to do so. It took me many fabric stores to find exactly what I wanted. Thus, it has taken me several months to finish the task. Well, I did it! But, I didn't do it alone. I had the help of Garrett's step- mom and step-sister. They are both incredible seamstresses and have many years of experience. I couldn't have made the boys these matching blankets without their help. Thank you Ruthann and Brooke. You guys are amazing! Now only 4 more days until we can officially use both of them.

Yesterday Garrett had the day off so, we decided to go to the zoo for the last time as a family of 3. It was the prefect day. I have never seen the animals so lively and the zoo so empty. It was my best visit yet. Gabe loves the animals, especially the giraffe and monkeys. He had a great time. We got to see the mom and baby giraffe up close while they ate. We also got to see the bear. He is usually hidden. It was a very fun and relaxing day.

A Few Lasts... At least for a while!

I taught my last spinning class this week, at least until I am fully healed from my c-section. I was really sad. I love teaching. It gives me an out and a sense of accomplishment. I will be so excited when I can teach again un-pregnant.
I also worked my last shift at the hospital. Now, this wasn't quite as sad, but I will still miss it for the short while I will be gone. Working with my patients really helps me to be more grateful for what I have. I can't believe we only have 9 days left until our little guy arrives. In the mean time I'm ready if he decides to come early. Until then.....
