Gabe is obsessed with shoes. We always catch him in our shoes and in our closet rearranging them and trying them all on. In the bottom picture I was getting ready and noticed it was a little quite, so I went in to check on Gabe. I found him with three shoes in his arms and a pile of shoes on his couch. He was so proud of himself and his pile of shoes. I love this kid. As you can tell he is a little character. We love our Gabbers so much. He is such a fun and pleasant child. We are so lucky to have him in our family.
Gabe has found a new favorite place to watch cartoons. I'm a little afraid for what the future brings because this kid has no fear and gets a kick out of seeing me with fear in my eyes.
Saturday we were invited to go on the Herber Valley Thomas the train ride for Kristi's(my best friend) little boys birthday. We had a lot of fun. We went for a 20 min train ride with Thomas as the front engine. Sir Topham Hat passed through the train visiting with the kids. It was so fun. After the ride there were a lot of activities for the kids. It was a very fun day for Gabe. He carried his Thomas with him the whole time. it was cute to see the expression on his face when he saw thomas in real life. It must have been very exciting for him. Here are some pics. My camera battery died so this is all I got, but I will post more when Kristi can email me a few others. Take a look!
I think the pictures say it all. Gabe is all boy. He loves his baseball bat and ball and asks to play with it daily. He also loves hats because of course he associates them with being like his dad and he absolutely loves his dad.
Last Thursday my best friend and I took our boys to the petting zoo. Gabe loved it. We got to see all the animals, feed the goats, ride the ponies, and go for a hay ride. It was so fun. I think Gabe's favorite animal was the donkey. He stood in front of it's cage and said, "He-haw, He-haw" for like 5 min. It was so cute. He wasn't so sure about the pony ride and it took him a couple of minutes to be somewhat comfortable on it. After our day at the petting zoo we went to Orem to visit my grandma Clinger. We always have a fun time visiting with her and she always gets a kick out of Gabe. It was a very fun day. Thanks Kristi!
Five years and two kids later, we are finally not students, YAY! Garrett graduated from medical school in May and is now in his first year of residency at IMC in Murray, Utah and will finish up his residency in dermatology at the Mayo Clinic beginning next July. I'm busy raising our two boys and working full-time as the Assistant Nurse Manager RN at the U Of U in the Physical Medicine and Rehab Clinic. I also teach spinning two evenings a week. We are a very busy family, but we are dedicated to each other and our goal of being able to busy a house next year and we won't back down until we get it. It gets a little crazy at times, but life is good. Our Gabe will be 4 in October and James is 2.
Last summer we had the chance to go to Italy to meet my Italian family. We also were able to visits sights we have always dreamed of visiting. My family was so hospitable and generous. They picked us up from the airport, took us on a few day trips in and around rome, and had us over for dinner. It was like we had known them all our lives. The sights we saw were amazing and will be forever cherished.
