Salt Lake City Marathon 5K

Last Saturday Garrett, the Kids and I ran the SLC Marathon 5K. I had been getting ready to run the Half- Marathon, but injured my achillies tendon about 2 months ago. I wasn't able to run on it for about a month and then when I could start running again I had to increase my miles very slowly. So, I decided to run the 5K instead. I ran up ahead while Garrett ran with the kids in the running stroller. We both ended up doing good. I ran it in about 22 mins and Garrett did it in about 28 mins. My injury is doing much better now. It still bugs me if I run a little more then I should have or if I don't stretch it well after a longer run. Luckily through all this I was still able to do other activities with little or no pain. I was able to continue teaching Spinning, do the elliptical, the stair climber and lift weights.

Junior AOA Banquet.

Last thursday Garrett was honored at the Alpha Omega Alpha Banquet. At this banquet he was given an award of excellence in his Medical school accomplishments and inducted into this honors society. Junior AOA is the highest honor you can receive as a Medical Student and the only way you are ranked at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Only 5 other students in his class were honored that night, which means he is in the top 6 in his class. We are so proud of you Garrett. Thanks for all your hard work.. It was a wonderful night.

Easter

Garrett was on call on Easter Morning so the Easter Bunny came after church this year. Gabe and James woke up in the new easter Jammies. We had a yummy whole wheat bunny shaped pancakes for breakfast. Gabe loved it. I think it was enough to distract his little mind away from the whole basket thing.

Easter Eggs!

Gabe and Garrett had so much fun dying eggs this year. It was very controlled and so fun to watch. Gabe loves to color, so of course he had a blast coloring on the eggs. He also loved plopping the eggs into the different colors and watching them splash. Yep, every chance he gets he is making a mess. Got to love two year olds. Here are a couple of pictures

Easter Bunny

We got to visit the Easter Bunny at the southtown mall a couple of days before Easter. Gabe had been talking about going forever, so I had to do it. Gabe was sooo excited, I just wish the bunny had been more excited. I guess it would be hard to sit in a bunny suit all day long and listen to crying children most of the time. As Gabe sat down on his lap he started telling him he wanted candy and toys, but the Bunny said nothing in return. O well it made for a cute picture. Luckily both kids were happy and not crying. I'll post more eater pictures later this week.
