Carving pumpkins

Last monday for family home evening we carved our pumpkins. We all were involved at different steps in the process. Gabe really got into it this year. He cleaned them all out by hand (with a little help from mom and dad). But as soon as he was done wanted to be clean again. He hates messy hands. Although James wasn't too interested, we did manage to get him dig a little of the insides out. He was more interested in riding bikes and playing with balls. They were all very homemade. No stencils this year. Maybe we'll have cool ones next year.

Trunk or Treat/ Ward Halloween Party

We had fun dressing up for our ward halloween party. It was fun to see all the kids and parents dressed up too. I'm not exactly sure why we do trunk or treats. I know it is safer, but Utah is pretty safe. It's just too much candy with trick or treating too....but anyway the dinner was great. I made turkey/vegetable chili. There was a large variety of other soups and salads. SO FUN!

Party TIme!

We celebrated Gabe's birthday several times last week because I lOVE birthdays. Garrett and I got to go to his preschool, where I brought whole wheat sucanut brownies. We exchanged books as a birthday tradition in his class. We choose one of his favorite Thomas the Train books to give. In return he was given book called Five Green and Speckled Frogs. It was so much fun. Best of all Gabe felt soooo special. We celebrated Gabe and James birthday last weekend at our home. It was a blast! Gabe loved dressing up and having all his friends and some of his family there (we missed you Eliza, Lucas, Oliver, Papa Jim and Susana..and all other family far away ). His favorite activity was the pinata, because he actually got to hit something without getting in trouble. It was very cold, but oh so fun. Thanks to all you who hung in there. James was kind of a bum. He cried most of the time because I couldn't hold him. Still hoping he will completely grow out of his whinning nature, but I don't expect it. Maybe next year will be a better one for him.
